Father Krueger Christian Leadership Award

*Open to current and incoming students

ABOUT: This award is in memory of Father Art Krueger, our first dean of students (1950-1961) and later principal of the HS (1962-65). A $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a candidate with a parish priest or parish staff member recommendation who exhibit outstanding qualities of leadership, character and responsibility. Students must also complete a personal essay on their current active participation in their parish and explain why service in their faith community is important to them. Final candidates may need to interview with members of St. Benedict Preparatory High School Administration. The award recipient will need to participate in our service learning program and offer support to our Campus Minister at St. Benedict Preparatory High School for each year the scholarship is awarded.

CRITERIA:

  • Applicant must be an incoming or current student at St. Benedict Prep High School.
  • Applicant’s recommendation must demonstrate evidence of faith in action, good character and responsibility.
  •  Applicant must personally compose an essay that explains his/her current involvement in their parish and how service has meaning in their life.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

  1. Completed application form.
  2. Student composed Christian leadership essay as described above.   
  3. One (1) letter of recommendation from the student’s pastor, associate pastor, or parish/community leader.
  4. Be available for an interview if selected as one of the finalists.
