Old Palms From Last Palm Sunday? Bring Them To School For Palm Burning March 4

The beginning of Lent is right around the corner. One of the traditions in the Catholic church, as well as St. Benedict Prep, is our annual Burning of the Palms Prayer Service held on Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras/Shrove Tuesday, March 4.

During this prayer service, we burn last year’s palms which are used to make the ashes for the Ash Wednesday blessing.

We are asking parents to drop off their palms in the office or have their child bring in any old palms you might have at home.

The prayer service is in the courtyard at 8:10 AM. Grades K-8 join in for the prayer service. Parents are welcome to join us as well.
