Lock Down Drill to be Practiced on Monday, November 11, 2024

 Dear Parents and Guardians of St. Benedict Preparatory School Students: 

On Monday, November 11, 2024, our students, faculty and staff will practice a lock down drill with the assistance of the Chicago Police Department. We will do this campus-wide with preschool through grade 8 students. By conducting this drill, we are fulfilling our Illinois State Board of Education requirement.

This will be JUST A PRACTICE lock down drill. 

Our teachers will explain the drill procedures in appropriate ways taking into consideration the unique developmental needs of the students' specific to their grade and age. Our approach will be one of discussion and appropriate Q & A. We are not creating a hypothetical situation to act out.

We are sending this email to alert parents and guardians of this practice drill in case your child(ren) make comments or ask further questions at home.
