We will be starting our Grades 1-5 Awards Ceremony in Church on Friday, June 7 at 12:15PM instead of 1:15PM. We apologize for the last minute change and the inconvenience. For those of you who were planning to attend, we hope you will still be able to join us.
We are changing the Awards Ceremony time for a very exciting reason! Our beloved Crossing Guard, Ms. Roxie Calhoun, has been chosen for the Crossing Guard of the Year Award! I know so many of you sent in your nominations for her. Ms. Calhoun received 25 percent of the nominations for the award. Thank you for your efforts!
We have been asked by the Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications to host Ms. Calhoun's award ceremony which is to start at 2PM in the GYM. We are honored to host this event for Ms. Calhoun, and would want all of our students to be present to congratulate her and wish her well as she prepares to retire after 51 years of service at the corner of Irving Park Road and Leavitt Street.
Parents are welcome to attend both events - the student award ceremony in the church at 12:15PM and the Crossing Guard of the Year Award/Roxie Calhoun at 2PM in the Gym
I appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this change in the start time. It will truly be an honor to celebrate Ms. Roxie Calhoun!
