The Week of the Young Child

April 8th-12th

St. Benedict Preparatory School is celebrating the Week of the Young Child. The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The week focuses on drawing public attention to the importance of Early Childhood Education. Students and faculty will be celebrating with a week of fun activities!

Activities Happening During the School Day-

  • Music Monday- Students will be making tambourines and having a dance party in class.

  • Tasty Tuesday- Students will be creating an Early Learners Popcorn Mix as a yummy treat.

  • Work Together Wednesday- Students will create a kindness quilt.

  • Artsy Thursday- Students will create their own masterpiece using scratch art paper.

  • Family Friday- Please join us at 8:30 am for Kindergarten Mass, or 9:30 Mass for Preschool and Junior Kindergarten. You may sit with your child’s class for these Mass times. Students will also share their favorite family activities on this day.

Activities Happening After School-

  • Wednesday April 10th: Ms. Hyland is hosting an open gym from 3:30-4:15PM in the High School Gym. Please accompany your child for some fun free play. Your child must wear gym shoes to this event. Please enter through the High School Gym Entrance on Bell.

  • Thursday, April 11th: Ms. McDonough and Mrs. Johnson are hosting two sessions to Fiesta, Move, and Drum with them in Rm. 129! There will be a session from 3:25-3:55PM and 4:00-4:30PM. Please only sign up for one session and use this sign up genius link to register. You may only attend this if you register. Please enter through the Elementary School entrance for this event (3900 N. Leavitt). You must accompany your child to this event.
