Intermediate Notes - Grades 4-5

Dear Intermediate Teachers and Staff,

Happy Sunday!

Thank you for all for your love this week through teaching your content with passion, a wonderful Grandparent’s, Grandfriend’s and VIP’s Day, celebrating the cross country players and being there for each other.

This week we start ASPIRE testing, please see the schedule below. Either admin or tech will be with you for your first session and will be available and around if anything shall go arise. Louie will be emailing you specifics by tomorrow. For PD this week, see below. The library will be in use Wednesday morning for Java with Gemo.

On Thursday, our 8th graders will be taking their US Constitution test so please support them by wearing Red, White and Blue.

Friday we have an out of uniform for Fun Run Incentive (students must have a pass).

PLEASE submit a proposal for a teacher grant. The link with instructions can be found “Docs for MS Teachers” or click here. The due date is October 25th. I would like to know of your idea by tonight, so please send me a quick email of what you are thinking!

I have started Informal Observations, once your observation is complete, please review it and reach out to me with a time to meet (either plan period, before/after school) within the next 7 days. Also please complete the post-observation document on your Danielson account, it looks like this, click here.

Lastly, Please read the items below and review the upcoming dates. Have a blessed week.

Ms.Deletioglu

Head of Upper School

St. Benedict Preparatory School continues a century-long tradition of superior education in a vibrant Catholic community. We recognize that each student’s God-given gifts hold unique value, potential, and dignity. Our city block campus offers preschool through grade 8 programs to the parish, the Northside of Chicago, and all those who share our mission. With a focus on critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and collaboration, the St. Benedict Parish faculty and staff, in partnership with parents, develop the creators and contributors of tomorrow inspired by faith and informed with a global perspective. We are a welcoming and supportive community with Christ at our center. A commitment to inclusive and rigorous challenge creates a dynamic, innovative, and active learning experience in which the needs of the whole student are met. At St. Benedict Preparatory School, the strengths of each child become an inspiration to others to learn fearlessly, to lead responsibly, and to serve joyfully.

OUR PASSION IS THE BEST POSSIBLE YOU!

Professional Folder in Office365

  • Nov. 4th

  • Dec. 2nd

  • Jan. 13th

  • Feb. 3rd

Field Trip Chaperones

Please be sure that you are sending all your chaperones names to Carol at least ONE WEEK in advance. There are a ton of end of year field trips and activities that Carol needs to check. The more time you can give her, the better. Also, please send the parent’s name to Carol, not the child’s name.

Reminder about EXTENDED CARE, CLUBS and RENWEB

Please remember to enter students in RENWEB at the close of each day.

If you are dropping them off to extended care after a CLUB you still need to log them into RENWEB - it’s like taking attendance. Thanks!

Teacher Time Fridays Mornings

Teachers will not be seeing any students before school for tutoring, reassessments or tutoring Friday Mornings this year.  This does not alter the normal arrival times.  This is only for students that plan to come in "early" to see the teacher.   This time is dedicated to teacher collaboration and innovation. Please avoid scheduling parent meetings on Friday mornings when possible. We want you to have dedicated time for collaboration. Thanks for your support!
