I decided to update the library with a baseball theme as it is one of my favorite topics. Having played the sport of baseball for 35 years, I love the mental process behind the game. Growing up in Chicago in a family of Cubs' fans also helped my love of baseball. I played t-ball, little league, fast pitch softball, and eventually played Division I softball at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Traveling to Milwaukee this year to see the final game of the regular season was a highlight for my husband, my daughter, and myself. Baseball is a true national pastime, and I know that my life has been tremendously affected by the sport. We have assembled baseball books of all types in the library for the secondary students. We also participated in an October Activity where students created baseball bracelets from actual baseballs. Take a look!
