The school year is flying by!  March is action-packed with many fun filled activities.  Here are some "special activities" we have planned for this month:

* Thursday March 8th- Field Trip: Emerald City Theatre to see "Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day"

* Wednesday March 14th 8:15-9:00- Donuts with Dad!  All dads (or male relative or friend) are invited to visit the classroom for a story, a song, and some yummy donuts!

* Friday March 16th- Rumor has it that a little Leprechaun was spotted running around the school last year on St. Patrick's Day.  He may make an appearance again this year to cause some more trouble and leave behind his pot of gold!  Shhh it's a surprise!

* Friday March 23rd-  No school due to teacher professional development

We will also be learning about St. Patrick, shamrocks and the Trinity, and Noah's Ark.  We will learn how St. Patrick used the clover plant to teach people about the trinity and even make our own shamrock trinity.  Toward the end of the month we will various interpretations of the story of Noah and his ark.  We will learn that a rainbow is God's promise never to flood the Earth again and try to make our own rainbow using water, a mirror and sunlight.

It's going to be a busy month.  As always if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.

It's December!!

December is here already!  Lots of exciting things are going on in our classroom this month!  It is not too late to help teach your child about giving by bringing in your canned goods.  We are collecting chili and peas, we still need a few more cans of each to reach our goal.

The weather outside is getting cold and even a little snowy!  We will be going outside as long as it is at least 40 degrees so please remember to bring hats and mittens (gloves are ok but mittens are a lot easier for your child to get on independently).  Just a reminder, snow boots may not be worn in the classroom!  If your child wears boots to school he/she must have shoes to change into; socks and slippers are not permitted.  You are welcome to bring a pair of shoes (crocs are fine) to leave in your child's cubbie.

Important Dates to remember:

- Wednesday December 14th 10 am - Christmas concert in the church

- Wednesday December 21st - class Christmas party

- Thursday December 22nd-Wednesday January 4th Christmas vacation

I hope all of you have a blessed Christmas and a happy New Year.  School will resume Thursday, January 5th 2012.
