Honors Biology

Course Description: Biology is the study of living things. In this lab-based course students examine the concepts of cells, heredity, evolution, the interdependence of organisms, organization within and among living things and the behavior of organisms. Students develop an understanding of what can be observed in the natural world and through scientific experimentation. Animal dissection may be integrated into the laboratory component.

AP Biology

Course Description:  This year long course is designed to be at level to challenge the learner. The expectations are that students are independent and personally motivated to learn the content.  The curriculum is centered around major units on organisms and populations, molecules and cells, and heredity and evolution. Dissection laboratory activities are included.   This course will prepare the student to take the AP Biology exam in the spring of 2016.
